...ohne Schrecken (Without Fear) is a tape composition dedicated to my son
Alvin Karl, born on 3 April 1998. On the occasion of his birth friends sent
me the poem "Engelleben" (life of an angel) by the German writer Peter
Härtling, whose yearning vision of a better and less arduous life inspired
me to compose this piece. Some of the vocal materials used in this piece
were provided by the Dufay Ensemble, Nürnberg, and by Manuela Klöckner.
