Piano Duo Rainer Bürck - Robert Rühle

 

The Piano Duo Rainer Bürck - Robert Rühle was founded in the summer of 1990,
when composer/pianist Rainer Bürck was looking for a new piano duo partner. Both
pianists agreed to specialize in contemporary music, and they have given many
successful concerts in Europe and have premiered works by several international
composers.

Rainer Bürck and Robert Rühle have performed at numerous international venues
and festivals of contemporary music in major European cities, including:

the Barber Festival of Contemporary Music in Birmingham/England

the Annual Festival of Electroacoustic Music at City University, London/England

the festival Musica Verticale in Rome/Italy

the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival in Huddersfield/England

the festival Tage für live-elektronische Musik in Basel/Switzerland

the festival Aspekte in Salzburg/Austria

the Klangwerkstatt Festival in Mannheim/Germany

and concerts in Berlin, Dresden, Nürnberg, Karlsruhe, Zürich, Edinburgh and many
further places in Europe.

In November 1992 Rainer Bürck and Robert Rühle played a concert for the
Südwestfunk Radio, which was broadcast in March 1993.

The piano duo premiered works by Simon Emmerson (London), Miachael Gorodecki
(London), Virginia Scott (Wales), Dan Roger (Birmingham), Laura Bianchini
(Rome), Mesias Maiguashca (Ecuador and Baden-Baden/Germany), Wilfried Jentzsch
(Dresden), Frank Schweizer (Karlsruhe), Franz Schillinger (Nurnberg), Rainer
Bürck. Further composers from several countries want to write pieces for them
(including Lawrence Casserley from England, Andrew Lewis from Wales and Brigitte
Robindore from Paris).
